AWFUL RIDE PICS

I just can't stop laughing at how TERRIBLE we look. Please, if this is the first ride story you've read on my blog, please go back and look at some of the other ride pics. I swear to god I can ride, I enjoy riding, and my horse enjoys it too.

Me: We're going to die! :D
Dixie: Get out of my face bitch or we WILL die

Me: We're going to die! :D
Dixie: Just let me do my job first.

Me: We're going to die but at least we look pretty! :D
Dixie: Oh shit is that photographer going to kill us?!

  3. Captions made me bust a gut! I never realized what a smart ass Dixie is. ;) The light in those photos is beautiful, and so are you two.

  5. Hey, comical but not horrible. The first is my favorite... Dixie looks hilarious. What I want to know is how the hell are you wearing a jacket? Must have been early morning... to damn hot already out here.

And I think we all have horrible ride photos from time to time... my luck always seems to be if my horse looks kick ass then I look like I'm riding like a sack of potatoes. If my form is correct then Rose looks... awkward. Sigh. Still giggling at least at your first one. The narrations helped a lot too!

    1. It was still in the 30s! I really love/hate the cold mornings in the desert.

  6. The pictures aren't that bad but your commentary is hysterical! I do like the last one - it really shows off how unique Dixie's markings are on her face.

  8. Those photos sure made me smile. When you put them together with the story, I can tell EXACTLY what you and Dixie are both thinking.

  9. well...the third pic actually looks fine to me, but I know that if YOU think you look bad, that's what matters. Plus, I do know some of the other photos you've done are so gorgeous! But yeah, the first two pics, not so great. The ride went well, that's what matters!

  10. I have so many photos that clearly illustrate "the last few seconds before the horse is shot in the heart by the photographer."

    Sigh.

  11. OMG - I love the dinosaur impression! :)

They aren't that bad of pics, you're too hard on yourself. And, congrats on 50 miles! WOW!!!

  15. Are those your fringed half-chaps? They look like Indian leather leggin's. Cool. Those pics are NOT bad. You should see some of mine! I love Dixie's expressions.

  19. Well, I thought I commented but been having some technical difficulties, so maybe it didn't go through?? Anyways, great story... great photos.. and congrats on the 50.. I can only imagine at this point what that accomplishment must feel like. BTW- you both look dashing all coordinated in blue and purple...Dixie is such a trooper.. you have done an outstanding job with her..

  20. I really really really really needed this post. it actually made me laugh. The post above you in the reader was an awful, sickening post that made me want to cry and throw up at the same time. And then I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this. Thank you.

BTW - I probably shouldn't do this, but here's the terrible post. I'm going to have to try and forget this as soon as I can: http://returnofthederelict.blogspot.com/2012/05/i-weep-for-humanity.html

    1. I doubt this year, it's a thousand miles! Hoping for Canyonlands though - maybe I'll see you at your home territory!

    2. Sweet re Canyonlands! I'll be there assuming all goes well. :) (And geez, geography FAIL. I didn't realize Moab was that far for you!)

    3. Well, on Friday I'm moving to San Francisco. I know Reno to SLC is about 500 miles, plus Moab is like on the far side of the state from SLC.

I thought the Rockies in SLC were amazing! One day I'll make it down to Moab.
