I am the worst endurance rider ever

I didn't ride again. And it was in the low 60s! My uterus declared today to be a non-riding day, and lobbied hard for it to be a couch-day, but I did manage to strip the den floor at least. Getting the carpet up was pretty easy, and then I just alternated sitting on the couch feeling sorry for myself with crawling on the floor prying up staples.

Tomorrow. I ride. Swear to god, no matter what, I ride that horse.

  1. Well, your horse is fed and cared for and happy. Occasionally doing stuff necessary for human existence might just have to get in the way!

  2. No uterus for me to blame not riding on. But me and the brass monkey are staying inside today.

  3. It's wise to listen to the uterus. Mine gave me a few days off last week. I'm sure my relationship with my horse is better off. ;)

  4. Sometimes it's necessary that we listen to our uterus! Feel better soon I'm sure Dixie doesn't mind the day off.

  6. Sometimes, the uterus just rules. I'm sure Dixie didn't care one way or another as long as she got her breakfast and dinner!

  7. Sometimes, the uterus just rules and there isn't a thing you can do about it. I'm sure Dixie didn't care one way or another as long as she got her breakfast and dinner!

  8. Take it easy on yourself, Funder. I bet Dixie will be no worse for the day off. These horses are supposed to be fun, not a source of guilt. (I have to remind myself of that when I don't ride for awhile.)

  9. let's hear it for the Uteri!
if you weren't going to have fun neither was Dixie. it's perfectly alright to feel sorry for yourself once in a while.

  10. I can totally picture this as a title for a Hyperbole and a Half post - "Some days, the uterus wins."

  11. Merri is absolutely right. If the uteri vote "no", who are we to argue? A little coconut rum + hot chocolate should fix you right up so you'll be ready to ride soon!
