When I was 14, I was asked what I would want as my epitaph. The best I could come up with, after a few minutes of serious thought, was "It seemed like a good idea at the time." Twenty years later, that's still the best I can explain about why I do anything.

What have I done
Howling 40-50 mph winds and the rain just started. About 30 intrepid fools at the ride meeting. Horse is double blanketed, dog is snug on her camping bed, I drank a lot of bourbon and am pretty snug in my nest. Wind should quit by morning and all will be well.
When I checked in they asked if I wanted to bump to 50. I laughed and said 7 hours of this was plenty of fun for me.
3G comes and goes so I'll post this now. Mugwump may drink scotch. Whiskey, scotch, or bourbon all allowed at the cremation wake.
Victorious post tomorrow I hope!

ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the victoriuous post-ride post!
ReplyDeleteI bet Dixie is wishing she had her digs that you are sleeping in! Good luck tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteGet on yer`sel! Well done, to even have the "doo dahs" to go out in that weather! I`d rather continue to enjoy Whisky! Lets know what happens?
ReplyDeleteYou are far braver than me...I wish you the best:)
ReplyDeleteThe worse the conditions the better story it makes later. The ride I recall most is the one I dreaded. Cold, raining, second day ride, no "real" rain gear, but the sense of accomplishment when we finished? Yeah...priceless☺
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
What doesn't kill us.... ?
ReplyDeleteStay warm, be safe, and have... fun?
ReplyDeleteHope you're Kickin it
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I'm crazy to walk the dog in this weather.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping the skies turn sunny and you have a great ride.
Soldier on, soldier!
