Extended vacation

It took three calls - one of them having (faked) anger-hysterics at the receptionist - to talk to my service advisor today. He says the Google Voice phone number I gave him doesn't work. Oddly, it works for the kennel where Cersei's at and for my husband. ANYWAY. Today's story is that there is a bad brake line to the rear brakes and they had to order a part from Detroit and it was shipped overnight. I don't know if this is in addition to the purported cracked master cylinder or not. It didn't show up today but hopefully will tomorrow.

Poor M has to fill up the tank this evening. At least it hasn't been cold - it's extremely unlikely that the hose is frozen. She is fabulous. I miss my critters! I also miss Homer Skelton Ford, the only really good Ford dealership in the world, where the service advisors actually call you and almost always tell you the truth. What a fuckin nightmare.

  1. Oohhh-That would tick me off too.

I haven't had much luck with dealership repairs either in the last few years. I despise the Chevy dealership here in Grand Junction and had to get a bit ticked off at the GM dealership to get some warranty work done on my dually.

Although, there is a Ford dealer in Julesburg, CO that has been my savior a couple of times on the trips between SD and CO. I keep their number on my phone in case anything bad happens in that area, I have someone reliable to call.

Hope your parts show up and they can actually be bothered to call and let you know.

  2. I can't really tell you where to get a car fixed around here but the world's best tractor mechanic lives one road over from me. While I am a pretty handy guy, he operates in another league altogether ! Here's hoping your truck gets fixed tomorrow and that you can get you back to Reno !

  3. No, more parts. That really sucks. I hope it arrives as scheduled and you're out of there like you want.

How come it's always dealerships that can't seem to get phone calls made? Must have something to do with Murphy or something but I've had the same experience.

  5. Ooooh I HAETES dealing with car dealerships. Fortunately (?) my vehicles are out of warranty and we have really awesome "specialists" for each of them. But dealerships - UGH! Get rude if you have to so that they get the job done SOON!
